Trust and Safety are really important concepts to us at Airtasker. Check out the below tips for trusting other members on the platform:
Look for profile badges
Airtasker has created a range of optional badges that our members can apply to verify their identity and other checks. Look out for:
- ID Badge: This means that our verification partner has checked that the details on the customer's account match those on their official documents.
- Police Check Badge (Australia only): This means that the customer has no Disclosable Court Outcomes (i.e. has a clean police history) at the time of the check, performed by the National Crime Check.
Ask to see an ID
If a customer doesn’t have the above badges, you can check to see a copy of an ID. We recommend that if you do this, you offer up your own documents as this will help form trust between you and the other member. It’s a good idea to ask this before the day of the task - you can use the private messaging feature to get the information you need.
Find out who will be on location when you’re doing the task
It can help you to trust customers if you know what to expect when you arrive at a task, especially if it will affect your ability to do the task. If it’s not already determined in the task description, you can ask the customer how many people will be at the task location, and how they are related to the task. For example; in event staff tasks, you can ask how many other staff members will be present, and how many guests they anticipate attending.
