What is Airtasker Credits?

In the event your task is cancelled, the funds may be returned to you as Airtasker credits. This will allow you to use the funds immediately for your next task.

How does it work?

1. You can use your credits immediately - Your Airtasker Credit balance is automatically applied when you assign your next task.
   For example: 
   First assigned task total charge on your credit card: 169.50
   The first task got cancelled on 1 Sep and the funds are immediately returned as Airtasker credits. Your credit balance is now 169.50. 
   You posted your second task and assigned it at a total price of 169.50. 
   - At this time you will no longer be charged for the task on your credit card. Instead, the funds from your previously cancelled task will be used to fund the new task. 
   
   
2.  It is the first to go - Whatever amount is available in your credit balance, it will always be the first to be deducted. Any amount in excess of the Airtasker credit would be debited from your nominated payment method
   For example: 
   You have a credit balance of 100 from your previously cancelled task
   You posted and assigned a new task at a total price of 169.50
   - In this case, the 100 credits will be applied first and the remaining balance of 69.50 will be charged to your payment method. 
   
   
3. You can use your coupons, too - You can combine the use of Airtasker credits and coupons in a single task. 
   For example:
   You have a credit balance of 100 from your previously cancelled task and you were given a 20 dollar discount coupon.
   You posted and assigned a new task at a total price of 169.50
   - In this case, the 20-dollar coupon discount will be applied, next the Airtasker credits and the remaining balance of 49.50 will be charged to your default payment method. 
   
   
4. You can use Afterpay - you can use your Afterpay after we deduct your Airtasker credits from the task price.
   For example: 
   You have a credit balance of 100 from your previously cancelled task
   You posted and assigned a new task at a total price of 169.50
   - In this case, the 100 credits will be applied first and the remaining balance of 69.50 will be charged to your Afterpay account. 

How do I know if I have Airtasker credits or know my balance?

Simply log in to your Airtasker account. Go to Payment Methods and under the Make Payments tab, you will see your Airtasker credit balance.

Does Airtasker credits expire?

Your Airtasker Credit is valid for 12 months from the date it was issued. Credits are automatically applied to your next task, so there’s no need to worry, especially when there are lots of tasks that can be done at Airtasker. In the event your task is cancelled where credits have been used, the credits will just be added back to your credit balance and will have an updated expiry date. 
For example: 
A credit of 100 from a cancelled task was added on 31 December 2022. This credit will expire on 31 December 2023. 
A task was posted and assigned on 2 February 2023 and the 100 credits was used. 

The task gets cancelled on 5 February 2023 and funds have been returned as Airtasker credits on the same day. 
- In this case, the 100 credits will have an expiry date of 5 February 2024. 

Can I have the Airtasker credit balance converted to cash? 

Any Airtasker credits accumulated from cancelled tasks where funds originated from a credit/debit card charge can be refunded. As soon as a task is cancelled, an email is sent to confirm task cancellation and inform you about the funds as Airtasker credits. You can simply reply to the email if you wish to have the funds refunded to your credit/debit card. 

Any awarded Airtasker credits (example: Credits received as a reward) cannot be converted as cash.
