While Airtasker’s general liability insurance covers personal injury or property damage to various tasks, it’s important to review the terms and conditions to understand any specific activities not otherwise excluded. Some tasks may have unique requirements, and Taskers may carry their own insurance for added coverage. It’s always a good practice to communicate with the Tasker and discuss any concerns or expectations before the task begins.
Some things to note
- Registered Taskers: Airtasker’s insurance policy does not cover individuals who are not registered on the platform. It is crucial to make sure that the person completing your task is a registered Airtasker member and is the one assigned to your task.
- Excluded activities: Airtasker Insurance does not extend its coverage to all tasks or activities. To learn more about excluded activities, please refer to the provided exclusion list for additional information.
Note:
Workmanship Quality: This does not cover faulty workmanship. Before accepting a Tasker’s offer, customers should ask about the Tasker’s work quality standards and whether they have any additional insurance that covers workmanship-related issues.
Criminal activities, malicious acts, or intentional damage: The policy excludes coverage for criminal activities, malicious acts, or intentional damage. If any of these situations occur, it is essential to report them promptly to both the police and Airtasker Support.
Tasker's personal injury and property damage: Likewise, it’s important to understand that the policy does not extend coverage to personal injury (if the Tasker gets injured whilst completing the task) or property damage belonging to the Tasker. Airtasker’s insurance policy should not be viewed as a substitute for workers’ compensation, salary protection, or other similar types of insurance that may be needed for Taskers in specific situations.
-
Task completion and payment: To be eligible for coverage, tasks must be both completed and paid for through the Airtasker platform, in line with the terms and conditions of the insurance policy. Alternative payment methods, such as cash payments, will not be covered.
Note:
Subcontracting: It’s important to note that the insurance policy will not offer coverage for claims that arise from subcontracting tasks.
