Subcontracting is when your task is done by someone other than your assigned Tasker. This is something that is only allowed if you have given your explicit agreement to.
When you assign someone to your task, it should be that person who does your task. This is for your privacy and security, and also to help build a trusting relationship with your Tasker.
Your assigned Tasker can bring a helper or send someone else on their behalf, but only if you agree to it. They should ask you about this beforehand, which is when you can say whether you are comfortable with that or not. It is against the Community Guidelines for a Tasker to subcontract without your express permission.
We always want to make sure that you know who and what to expect, so we don’t support shared accounts or unknown persons showing up to complete tasks. If you have agreed to subcontract, we’d advise checking the other person’s ID and recording their Airtasker profile link.
Any other person who contributes to the task also must also have their own Airtasker account.
Information for Taskers
It is against Community Guidelines to subcontract without the permission of the Poster. Subcontracting is also not supported if the other person does not have their own Airtasker account.
Shared accounts are also not allowed as per our Terms and Conditions - every person involved in a task should have their own Airtasker account. It only takes a couple of minutes to set up an account and it’s vital to avoid possible issues.
When you’re assigned by a Poster, you enter a task contract with them where you hold all responsibility for the Tasker side of the contract. Keep in mind that this means that anything that happens on the task will be attributed to you. Even if you have subcontracted a task, any review, cancellation, or other task issue will be recorded on your account.
Remember, as the assigned Tasker, you are accountable for any damage or loss incurred during the task.
