I'm a Tasker, what is subcontracting?

Subcontracting is when a task is done by someone other than the person it was assigned to. This type of arrangement is supported if both the Tasker and the Customer explicitly agree to it. It is against Community Guidelines to subcontract without the permission of the Customer.

As shared accounts are not allowed as per our Terms and Conditions - every person involved in a task should have their own Airtasker account including the subcontractor. This is also needed for tasks to be eligible for insurance. When you’re assigned by a Poster, you enter a task contract with them where you hold all responsibility for the Tasker side of the contract. This means anything that happens on the task will be attributed to you. Even if you have subcontracted a task, any review, cancellation, insurance claim or another task issue will be recorded on your account. As the assigned Tasker, you are accountable for any damage or loss incurred during the task as well.
