At Airtasker, trust and safety are our top priorities, especially when it comes to tasks that require licensed tradespeople. We offer a range of optional licence badges to verify a Tasker's qualifications. These badges are checked with our verification provider and local authorities. However, it's important to note that a Tasker may still be licensed even if they don't have a badge on their profile, or they may have a licence that doesn't currently have a badge.
Please keep in mind: these badges are optional. Some other things to note are:
- A Tasker may not have a badge on their profile, but they may still be licensed. They also might have a licence that we currently do not have a badge for.
- The best way to know if someone is licensed is to sight the licence itself. We recommend doing this before the task has started, by asking the Tasker for a photo of it after you've assigned them.
- Most industries also have databases where you can search and check someone's licence status.
-
Not sure whether your task needs a licensed tradesperson? Check with the industry's regulatory body in your local country or state.
- To ensure that a Tasker is licensed, we recommend requesting a photo of their licence before the task has started or checking their licence status on industry databases. For more tips on how to verify a Tasker's identity, check out our article here.
