I'm a customer, what is subcontracting?

Subcontracting is when a task is done by someone other than the person it was assigned to. This type of arrangement is supported if both the Tasker and the Customer explicitly agree to it. It is against our Community Guidelines for a Poster to subcontract without your permission. 

When you assign someone to your task, your assigned Tasker can bring a helper or send someone else on their behalf, but only if you agree to it. If you are uncomfortable with the arrangement make sure to let the Poster know. 

We always want to make sure that you know who and what to expect, so we don’t support shared accounts or unknown persons showing up to complete tasks. If you have agreed to subcontracting, we’d advise checking the other person’s ID and recording their Airtasker profile link. Any additional person that contributes to the task also must also have their own Airtasker account as Airtasker Insurance only applies to Airtasker members.
