Welcome to Airtasker!
I’m sure you’re keen to get started on your first task! To help you on the way, here are a few tips to make you and your skills stand out.
Tell us your superpower!
Your profile is the best way to share who you are and the skills that you bring. Having a genuine and descriptive profile will help Customers get to know you and accept your offer.
We found that profiles from successful Taskers have:
- A biography that speaks about your background, skills and experience
- A profile picture that shows your face
- A Badge helps highlight your certification
- A portfolio showcasing prior work
Check out our full article here for more information on how to create a good profile. When creating your profile, be aware of Community Guidelines, this includes taking care not to add any contact information.
Pre-fill your essentials
Before you can make your first offer, we need your bank account details, mobile number and billing address so we can get your payment to you as soon as possible.
Set up notifications!
You can get a notification when a task you may be interested in is posted, giving you a shortcut to finding the right tasks for you. Most Customers assign tasks within the first 48 hours! For more information on setting up task alerts, click here.
Be aware of the Community Guidelines
The Airtasker marketplace is governed by a set of Community Guidelines that ensure a safe and respectful marketplace for all those involved. You must understand how they can affect you. The guidelines will help you with the dos and don’ts of making offers, what types of tasks we support, and what type of comments you can make.
Think about your offer
Once you find a task that you’re interested in doing, look closely at all of the information on a task to make sure that you understand all that is involved.
Check:
- The description
- Date
- Price
- Location and,
- any attachments.
Once you're confident that you can fulfill the task, go place an offer! For tips on how to make a good offer, see our article here. You should also be aware of what to look for when you make an offer, as explained in this article.
Don’t forget to request payment
Once you’ve completed a task, you need to request payment. If you don’t request payment, the Customer can’t release it to you.
