Your well-being is important to us, so we’ve put together this list of things to look out for if you’ve got an inkling something might not be quite right.
This list will give you some advice on what you can do in each situation, but please remember that if you ever feel uncomfortable on the platform, you should let us know. Your concerns will be taken seriously and handled with confidentiality. If at any time you feel in danger, call your local emergency line.
What you’ll find here:
- Someone is acting suspiciously on my task

- I’ve been offered a better deal to cancel on Airtasker
Someone is acting suspiciously on my task
If someone’s behavior is making you feel uncomfortable on Airtasker, we would advise you to cease communication and remove yourself from the situation. Let us know about what happened as soon as possible - our specialized Trust and Safety team can support you.
Remember, if you ever feel in danger or find yourself in an emergency, call your local emergency line.
Something seems too good to be true
Often, if something seems unbelievably good, it’s likely it’s bad. Be wary of extremely low offers that claim to include many services or those that mention further discussion off-platform (these things are both against the Community Guidelines). Ask questions in the comments section before you assign anyone, particularly to clarify gray areas or to confirm the exact specifics of an offer.
If you’re still suspicious about something, please let us know so we can investigate.
I’ve been offered a better deal to cancel on Airtasker
Some Taskers may tell you that they can offer you a better price for cash if you cancel the task. A Tasker may say this is to get around the variable service fee that Airtasker charges, which you can read about here.
A fee is charged so Airtasker can offer services that protect Posters and Taskers. The fee allows us to provide a secure platform and payment system, dispute resolution, and a support team. If a task is canceled, it will not be eligible for any of these services that are exceptionally valuable if something goes wrong.
We strongly advise keeping the task and payment on Airtasker. If someone does offer you a deal to cancel, you can politely decline and say you would rather stay on Airtasker. If you feel uncomfortable at any time during this type of conversation, reach out to us and we can assist.
