Trust and Safety is a really important concept to us at Airtasker. If you have posted a task where a licensed tradesperson is required, it’s crucial that the Tasker has the right qualification.
In Australia, we currently have a range of licence badges that verify Tasker’s documents are valid and current. When a Tasker applies for a badge, their details are checked with our verifications provider alongside State and Territory authorities. Read more about badges here.
Please keep in mind: these badges are optional. A Tasker may not have a badge on their profile, but they may still be licensed. They also might have a licence that we currently do not have a badge for.
The best way to know if someone is licensed is to sight the licence itself. We recommend doing this before the task has started, by asking the Tasker for a photo of it after you've assigned them.
Most industries also have databases where you can search and check someone's licence status.
If you’re looking for more tips on how to know a Tasker is who they say they are, see our article here.
Not sure whether your task needs a licensed tradesperson? Check with the industry's regulatory body in your local country or state.
