When using Airtasker to complete tasks, it's essential to keep in mind that you are engaging with other members of the platform. We also strongly advise users to adhere to the Community Guidelines for positive interaction on the platform.
If you ever find yourself feeling uncomfortable with another member on Airtasker, you should let us know immediately. We take your concerns seriously and handle them confidentially. If you ever feel in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency line for assistance. Your safety is our utmost priority.
When you’ve posted a task
As your newly posted task will be publicly visible to the entire Airtasker Community, it’s important not to disclose any personal information on your task. For your safety and security, please refrain from posting your full name, address, email, social media accounts or phone number in the task description or in any comments.
You can have private conversations via the Airtasker private messaging feature after you have assigned a Tasker.
Reviewing your offers
Try to be as specific as possible when communicating with Taskers before accepting their offer. This helps Taskers understand what needs to be done so they can make an appropriate offer. Don't be afraid to ask questions or qualifications necessary to complete your task.
We also highly recommend reviewing their profiles and checking their reviews, completion rate, and any verification badges they might have to show their experience and qualifications as a member of the platform.
When your task is assigned
Once you’ve chosen a Tasker to complete your task, payment is deducted from your chosen payment method and securely held by Airtasker Pay. You can then get started on the task by discussing it with the Tasker in private messages. If you mutually agree with the Tasker that more payment might be needed to complete the work, you can safely top up your task funds at any stage by using the Increase Price function. Avoid paying cash as this is a breach of Community Guidelines.
Before work begins
Don’t be shy to ask your Tasker to show some form of ID before commencing the task. If you are getting a trade-related task done, now's the perfect time to check and confirm the trade licence ID! You can even ask the Tasker to send you a copy of their ID via Airtasker Private Message to keep it handy.
While the task is in progress
Don’t release payment to the Tasker until your task is fully completed and you are satisfied that all your requirements have been met. If you are ever in a situation where you are unsatisfied with the job, it is best to communicate this with the Tasker as soon as possible and try to come to a resolution. If you can’t come to a resolution, you can always contact us for support and advice.
When the task is completed
If you're not available to check the work completed in person, feel free to request photos of the work to be sent through the private messages of the task. If you need more time to assess the work, communicate this to the Tasker and let them know when to expect your confirmation of the task completion. Once you've checked the work is fully complete and agree the task is done, you can then release the payment to the Tasker.
When the task is closed
After payment has been released you can then leave a review on your experience with the Tasker. You've got 14 days after the task has closed to submit your review. It's important for other members of the community to see your genuine feedback so they can also choose the best Tasker suited to their needs. If in doubt, take a look at the Review Guidelines and let us know if you need more help.
